Package v1 is designed to be auditable. Automatic app integration remains experimental until your exact Codex version is verified.

1. Inspect the package

Open README.md, manifest.json and CHECKSUMS.txt. Confirm every file listed in the manifest exists.

2. Verify and dry-run

Keep the package outside system-sensitive directories. Run install.ps1 with its default dry-run setting and read every planned action.

3. Check compatibility

Do not force installation when your app version is absent from supportedAppVersions. Use the browser preview instead.

4. Restore cleanly

Keep restore.ps1 with the package. Current MVP packages do not modify official files and report this explicitly.
